Apple issues iPhone software update
iPhone owners, gather your USB cables – it’s update time. Apple just released iPhone OS 3.1.3, packed with bug fixes and performance improvements. Get set for a more stable iPhone experience, but don’t go expecting any new features just yet.
Apple’s latest iPhone OS update sorts out inaccuracies in the battery level indicator of Apple’s iPhone 3GS, as well as chivvying along third party applicaions that refused to load. Japanese iPhone owners will also see problems with the Japanese Kana keyboard ironed out.
There are no new features though, which is a blow after the iPad launch, which many expected to accompany a new version of the iPhone OS. What’s more, Apple’s latest iPhone update will put the smackdown on jailbroken iPhones. iPhone OS 3.1.3 is immune to jailbreaking, at least for the moment.
