New Apple Macbook Pro on the way? Benchmark logs show Intel Core i7 model
Apple could be set to unveil a brand new Apple Macbook Pro with Intel’s Core i7 processor at its heart. A benchmark report lists as yet unseen Macbook Pro rocking Intel’s new top-of-the-line chip. Is Apple ready to give the Macbook Pro another upgrade?
In a Geekbench report submitted on February 4, reveals a model identified as an Apple Macbook Pro 6.1 (a previously unusued Macbook Pro identifier) running an unreleased build of Mac OS X 10.6.2 tagged 10C3067.
The report shows the mysterious Apple Macbook Pro running an Intel Core i7 M 620 processor, the most high-performance chip in Intel’s latest batch of processors.
The device could be the result of a custom hack but if it’s not, the findings suggest the new Apple Macbook Pro could be a high-end 15in or 17in model.
It’s been regularly rumoured that Apple was about to adopt Intel’s new processors and Intel itself accidentally issued an email competition promising a Macbook Pro with a new Core i5 processor last month. Could the updated Macbook Pro have been the stolen Apple prototype?
